Pete Fountain, making his first appearance at the French Quarter Festival in five years, still has it. Everyone was talking about his recent health problems, but the old guy can sure put on a show. He played with the French Quarter Festival All Stars at the opening show of the Festival on April 11 of this year. Also in the group were Tim Laughlin, Connie Jones, and others. But even though it was a great group, everyone wanted to see Pete. It was great to see that the champ is still the champ. |
