JAMIE CRAIG'S NEW CD PROVES JAZZ-ROCK ISN'T DEAD!

JAMIE CRAIG Feel the fusion! Jazz-rock is alive and well, as you will discover if you take a listen to the Jamie Craig album THE LOST DREAM. Jazz-rock was an art-form that many people thought was lost by the time the Eighties ended, but like so many types of art, it is raising its head again in the Two-thousands. Why? Because listeners just plain like it! According to Jamie Craig: “I wanted to make an instrumental CD for anyone who grew up on rock music and still enjoys a solid bass-line and a full drum-kit. I was always impressed by jazz acts with a beat such as Jean-Luc Ponty, Miles Davis in the BITCHES BREW era, Stanley Clarke and John Scofield.” Craig is a former bassist who now mostly plays keyboards and created all these sounds on synthesizers (although you will swear the bass and drums are the real instruments). This sort of reminds me of a cross between Herbie Hancock and The Headhunters in the Seventies and classic Emerson, Lake & Palmer (without any singing). This CD has half its notes in the retro camp and the other half on the cutting edge of modern instrumental music. |
