Suprema, the Salvadorian premium beer, celebrated its 2nd annual Suprema Jazz Festival last February 13th. The guests who were invited to this exclusive event had a chance to listen to their favorite international jazz tunes while enjoying ice cold Suprema beer under the stars. Escalandrum, an argentinean sextet, directed by “Pipi” Piazzolla, Kelly Mittleman, renowned jazz singer from New York, and the band “Martes 8:30” filled the night with a fusion of classic and contemporary jazz in a charming and glamorous atmosphere with the backdrop of an elegant setting, a national heritage site .

“We invited jazz sextet Escalandrum form Buenos Aires to participate in the Festival because it represents, through its musical proposal, the high standards of quality and sophistication of our target consumers,” Christina Murray, Suprema Brand Manager commented.

As the grandson of Argentina’s most famous bandoneón player, Astor Piazzolla, “Pipi” Piazzola is founder of this well-known group. “I started this band several years ago to compose jazz music with friends. Having different influences but similar music tastes, each of us added a little something to create a new genre of jazz with an argentinean touch, mixing jazz notes with local folk rhythms from Rio de la Plata” Piazzolla remarked.

In the year 2000, Escalandrum produces its first album entitled “Bar Los Amigos” while performing as a new jazz band in Buenos Aires. In 2002 the group decides to take a new turn and starts playing with an acoustic style, producing its second album “Estados Alterados.” With their third album “Sexteto en movimiento,” Escalandrum positions itself among the best jazz producing bands in Argentina.
Escalandrum performs in El Salvador the first time invited by CamposArtGroup, producer of this year’s Suprema Jazz Festival.

Invites enjoyed Suprema and an outstanding live jazz performance outdoors, surrounded by an atmosphere of style, refinement and allurement in the grounds of the beautiful house where the Festival took place.
